Freunde der Bayerischen
Staatssammlung für Paläontologie
und Geologie München e.V.

The booster club Freunde der Bayerischen Staatssammlung für Paläontologie und Geologie München e.V. was founded in 1971 and currently comprises some 400 members. It supports various research and education activities of the Bayerische Staatssammlung für Paläontologie und Geologie through fund raising and the provision of financial means, as well as through the active participation of its members in outreach activities. Recently, the club also promotes graduate students and researchers in the field of palaeontology and geobiology by awarding the Hans Hinle-Prize and sponsoring the Deutschlandstipendium at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University. Furthermore, the club is commited to the support of popular education in palaeontological sciences and pursues exclusively non-profit and tax-privileged purposes.
